The Qin Dynasty (221 - 206 BC)

221 BC              
Qin unified China.

214 BC              
The first emperor of Qin started the project of building the Great Wall.

213-212 BC        
The first emperor ordered the burning of Confucian classics and the burying alive of Confucian scholars; construction of the Er-pang Palace and Lishan Mausoleum began.

210 BC              
The first emperor died of illness at Shaqiu, and the second emperor Hu Hai ascended the throne.

209 BC              
Chen Sheng and Wu Guang raised the standard of revolt.

207 BC              
Eunuch Zhao Gao murdered the second emperor and installed Zi Ying as the new emperor.


206 BC             
Liu Bang’s army advanced into Guanzhong and the Qin Dynasty was toppled.
