Emperor Shengzu (aka Kangxi) - The Most Benevolent and Able Emperor in Chinese History



Some quick facts about this emperor:

Ø      Ascended the throne at the tender age of 7.
Ø      Took up the reigns of government at the age of 13.
Ø      Studied geometry, mathematics, medicine, astronomy, meteorology, world geography and Latin from missionaries who came from France and Belgium.
Ø      Produced a new variety of rice called the ‘Imperial Variety’.
Ø      Devoted himself to the reunification of the country and improvement of productivity.
Ø      Ruled for 61 years.
Ø      Died when he was 68.
