Emperor Gaozong (Qing Dynasty) - The Benevolent, Autocratic, Conscientious, Talented and Romantic Emperor

Some quick facts about this emperor:

Ø      Ascended the throne at the age of 22.

Ø      He loved poetry and was fluent in the Mongul, Tibetan and Uygur languages.

Ø      To maintain law and order, he categorized robbery, gambling, fighting and prostitution as the Four Sins.

Ø      He encouraged the opening of wasteland.

Ø      He organized more than 500 scholars to compile The Complete Library of the Four Treasures.
